PRESENTATION AND LOCATION

La Gioconda hotel is situated in the heart of Florence's historic centre, within walking distance of all the city's most important attractions including the magnificent San Lorenzo Basilica, Medici Chapels and the Duomo. It is also only a short walk from the Santa Maria Novella railway station. The property is so-named because it was here that the famous La Gioconda painting was recovered in 1913 after having been stolen from the Louvre.
